My works are the result of combining freedom, expressive need, practical application and research. I believe that art, as a language, should be accessible and represent a good compromise between aesthetics and content.
The one who creates is not always and necessarily driven to express a complex, cryptic or subliminal concept, but simply, often, gives free rein to his or her expressiveness.
For me, artistic expression, is initially an intimate event and only later becomes a collective communicative form: a profound need that begins with the taking shape of an image in a personal world. The pastiness of color guides me toward the expression of a mental landscape, devoid of artistic rules, and even if the subject seems to be one, it elaborates, grows, entangles itself in an impact of momentary suggestions. It is not just execution, but transfer…mind hand canvas, wanting to bring the viewer into my universe. As I work I think of color as a companion to the line.
The content, arising spontaneously from momentary ideas or thoughts, offers the viewer starting points, tempts a stimulus for different keys to interpretation.
